Rock Hill, South Carolina, 2-19-2010. Kendall Anderson, CFA participated as a panelist and judge of the Southern Classic Investment Research Challenge (SCIRC) in Atlanta, Georgia on February 16, 2010.
Student analyst teams from the University of Georgia, Georgia State University, Wofford College and Emory University presented a recommendation of Cbeyond, a publicly traded, Atlanta-based company (Nasdaq: CBEY) and the world’s first 100% Voice over Internet Protocol local phone network. The other panelists were Michele T. Garren, CFA, Invesco Global Strategies, Alan D. Gasiorek, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, Andrew W. Jung, CFA, Montag & Coldwell Investment Counsel and Rex P. Macey, CFA, Wilmington Trust.
The team from Georgia State University was selected as the winner of the SCIRC. They will head to New York for the next round of the competition and if successful will represent the America’s in the CFA Institutes Global Research Challenge finals in Hong Kong held this April.
